24 Best AI Tools You Need in 2024 (This List Will Change Your Game!)
Apologies for the title, I asked Google Gemini to make it SEO friendly.
It’s 2024, if you’re not using AI, what are you doing?! AI won’t replace you but those who master it will.
24 Best AI Tools You Need in 2024
Here's a curated list of 24 AI tools that I've personally tested and recommend you experiment with:
ChatGPT
Perplexity
Copilot
Gemini
Suno
Leonardo AI
Stable Diffusion
ImageFX
Canva
Magic Studio
LeiaPix
Meshy
Runway
Pika
Synthesia
Owlift
Koala Writer
Hostinger
ChatPDF
Copy AI
QuillBot
Eleven Labs
Otter AI
Notion AI
1) ChatGPT
OpenAI's LLM needs no introduction—ChatGPT is the most commonly used AI tool. Its latest model (as of this writing), GPT-4, has multi-modal capabilities. In layperson's terms, this means you can use image, video, voice, and text for both inputs and outputs.
It’s my go to tool for brainstorming, Excel formula troubleshooting, and also research.
2) Perplexity
Perplexity is one of the hottest AI startup right now, with a recent valuation of more than a $1 billion and famous investors including Nvidia and Jeff Bezos. To top it off, Jensen Huang, Nvidia CEO, said he uses the product “almost every day.”
From my own experience, I do prefer Perplexity’s UX, inclusion of sources, and related questions over ChatGPT.
3) Copilot
Copilot is Microsoft’s answer in the AI race. The chat based AI companion utilises GPT-4 but has been fine tuned for certain tasks such as programming and image creation.
I was recently having an issue with some HTML code for work and decided to get Copilot to help me. It easily fixed up the code and even improved the formatting.
4) Gemini
Although Google’s Gemini has faced issues in the past, it’s certainly made improvements. Personally, I’ve been utilising Gemini for SEO, for example the heading for this article was created with the prompt “Create a SEO friendly title for a blog post about 24 AI tools for 2024”. One would assume Google’s LLM would provide the most effective SEO tips for Google search.
Gemini has also been quite handy for simple image creation and even chart creation. For the image below, I used the prompt “Create an anime style image of a koala drinking a flat white” and the result turned out decent.
5) Suno
Suno is an AI song generator that’s easy to use and produces incredible results. I remember spending a solid hour creating songs when I first experimented with Suno.
Some hit songs include:
Using the following prompt - “A song about how I love my dog in the style of country. For the lyrics use lots of rhyming”, Suno created this masterpiece in seconds.
6) Leonardo AI
Leonardo AI is an Australian image generation start-up that’s raised $31m USD. The platform also offers other tools such as an image upscaler, canvas editor, and multiple fine tuned models.
Using the same prompt as before, here’s what Leonardo AI produced using their Anime Pastel Dream model. I think the koala looks fine but the flat white looks oddly like a glass of milk with a coaster on it.
7) Stable Diffusion
Stable Diffusion is a text to image model that has been expanded to other tools such as a background remover, magic eraser, image upscaler, and face swap.
Again, with the same prompt as before, Stable Diffusion produced the following image. Interestingly, the coffee doesn’t look like a flat white but a beer. I’m also surprised to see two additional drinks and a slice of orange.
Try Stable Diffusion for yourself.
8) ImageFX
ImageFX is a new AI image generator created by Google’s AI Test Kitchen. It allows users to create images based on simple text descriptions you provide, similar to tools like Stable Diffusion above.
For some reason, ImageFX wouldn’t accept my original prompt, so I had to modify it to “koala drinking a coffee”.
9) Canva
Canva’s Magic Studio is an impressive suite of AI powered tools for both graphic and video design. My favourite features so far are:
Magic Animate - Which adds animations and transitions to designs with a single click.
Magic Grab - Lets users select and manipulate objects within images, making it easy to reposition elements or edit text within images.
Magic Edit - Allows users to modify images with simple text prompts.
Here’s the koala image that Canva generated. Overall, it’s a fairly solid result, although not sure what the brown square above the coffee is.
10) Magic Studio
Confusingly, there’s an AI Image generation startup also called Magic Studio. After some LinkedIn sleuthing, it seems the founder Bharat Prabhakar was previously a data scientist at Rakuten.
Some of their products include:
Magic Eraser - Remove objects, people, or text from photos.
Background Remover - Remove and change image backgrounds.
AI Image Generator - Create images from text prompts.
Image Upscaler: Increase image size up to 4K without losing quality.
Background Blur - Add blur effects to backgrounds for professional-looking photos.
The image the Magic Studio created is hands down the winner for me.
Koala drinking a flat white ✅

No weird inclusions or artefacts ✅
Try Magic Studio for yourself.
11) LeiaPix
LeiaPix transforms 2D images into 3D animations using AI. It provides users with tools to create depth maps and dynamic visual content.
In a few seconds, it converted my photo of Mount Fuji into an animated video. If I wanted to, I could’ve tweaked different variables such as the angle, duration, and focus point.
12) Meshy
Meshy AI is a platform that enables users to create detailed 3D models from text descriptions or 2D images using AI technology.
Meshy took my prompt “anime style image of a koala drinking a flat white” and generate the model below. I’m by no means a 3D artist but the model does look a bit rough.
13) Runway
Runway AI is a platform that provides a variety of AI-powered tools for creating and editing videos and images, including text-to-video, image-to-video, and text-to-image capabilities.
According to their customer stories page, Runway has been used in the production of The Late Show, Madonna's Celebration Tour, and Alicia Keys.
Using their image to video product, I was able to create the video below. As you can see, it starts out great but ends up freakish (perhaps the koala became a dropbear)
I also experimented with their Lip Sync product, which lets your generate text to speech and their animates an image to match the speech. The result is oddly terrifying but the fact it took a few seconds is extraordinary.
14) Pika
Pika is another video generation platform that utilises AI to create short video clips based on text, image, and video prompts.
Their image to video tool created the following video.
15) Synthesia
Synthesia is also an AI-powered video creation platform. Using text to speech, it enables you to generate videos using artificial avatars instead of filming real people.
Synthesia customers include the likes of Zoom, Heineken, and Xerox. Without a paid account, I can’t download the video I created but you can watch it here.
16) Owlift
Owlift is a website that simplifies complex topics into easy to understand explanations using AI. Think ELI5 but with the option to change how “dumb” or “smart” you are feeling.
17) Koala Writer
After all of the koala images I’ve generated, it’s only fitting I have Koala Writer on this list. Koala Writer is powered by ChatGPT but combines SERP analysis to produce SEO friendly content.
Try Koala Writer for yourself.
18) Hostinger
Hostinger is a hosting provider that’s released an AI website builder. The prompt I used was “a luxury food and travel blog, think 3 Michelin star restaurants and business class flights”. Unfortunately, I can’t link the to draft website but the ability to whip up a rough website in a few seconds is impressive.
19) ChatPDF
ChatPDF is a tool that allows users to interact with PDF documents using AI. Once the PDF is uploaded, you can ask questions and get instant answers based on the document's content.
20) Copy AI
Copy AI started out as AI content generator but is now positioning itself as GTM AI platform. They’ve built out easy to use automated workflows for both sales and marketing teams.
For example, marketers can use Copy AI to scrape a blog post and quickly generate copy for social media posts and emails.
While sales teams can use Copy AI to create a cold email sequence by plugging in a prospect’s LinkedIn Profile.
21) QuillBot
Quillbot is an AI-powered paraphrasing tool that’s helping students and professionals rewrite, edit, and change the tone of their text.
They’ve also released a slew of other relevant tools including:

22) Eleven Labs
ElevenLabs creates generative AI speech software, with the goal of producing highly realistic and expressive synthetic voices. Some of the use cases include audiobooks, gaming, voiceover for videos, and AI chatbots.
Here’s an example of their text to speech product.
They also have dubbing, speech to speech, and voice cloning products on offer.
23) Otter.ai
Otter.ai offers real-time transcription and collaboration tools, turning spoken conversations into written text with high accuracy. Use cases include virtual meetings, interviews, and lectures.
24) Notion AI
The tech industry’s favourite productivity app has a few AI features that I’ve found to be practical including:
Q&A - which allows you to search your entire workspace for answers
Writer - it can can draft, edit, summarise written content
Autofill - autofill properties in databases by extracting relevant information from the existing content
